John Williams & Company is a family run business since 1870

2020 marked our 150th anniversary

We are specialists in all types of traditional pitched roofing from Kent Peg Tiling to slating and modern concrete tiling; and experts in the repair and renovation of buildings including brickwork, carpentry and plastering.

Over the last 150 years we have built a reputation for expertise, quality and service that is the envy of our industry.. Throughout this time we have worked on many prestigious buildings including Tower Bridge, St. James Palace, and The British Museum in London, Rochester Cathedral and Portchester Castle in the South East, as well as famous hotels, mansions and thousands of residential properties and homes, both large and small, all of which are just as important in the eyes of their owners and all of which have received the same care and respect from our craftsmen.

Our craftsmen use skills and techniques passed down through generations and they are all holders of the Heritage registration card for the Construction Skills Certification Scheme operated by the Construction Industry Training Board.

Our History

2020 marked the 150th anniversary of John Williams & Company

John Williams & Company was established in 1870, although the origins are obscure and could date back as far as 1822 with a ‘Williams’ in Bangor, North Wales. It was incorporated as John Williams & Company Rotherhithe Ltd. in 1931. This name was changed in 1993 to John Williams & Company Ltd. and in 2004 the present company John Williams & Company (Contracting) Ltd. was formed.

Today John Williams & Company (Contracting) Ltd. continues to thrive. Quality remains the top priority and by devoting resources to training and development the traditions of the past become the standards of the present.
